New Delhi, 10 April (H.S.):

A high-level Commonwealth Sport delegation is currently in India evaluating infrastructure and planning for the 2030 Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad, with the Commonwealth Games Association (India) welcoming the team Friday.

Led by president Dr. Donald Rukare, alongside CEO Katie Sadleir and Games & Assurance Director Darren Hall, the group inspected key venues across Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Vadodara, and Ekta Nagar from April 8-10. Sites toured included Mahatma Mandir, Veer Savarkar Sports Complex, Narendra Modi Stadium, and IIT Gandhinagar, complemented by consultations with Gujarat officials on progress.

Engagements extended to Indian sports administrators, encompassing the Commonwealth Games Association (India), Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, and stakeholders, deliberating event blueprint, governance, and execution roadmap.

Rukare praised India's preparation caliber, venue standards, and central-state synergy as exemplary, hailing the centenary Games as a historic juncture to honor legacy while pioneering innovation.

CGA(I) president PT Usha affirmed national pride in hosting, confident of a landmark, athlete-centric spectacle through collaborative excellence. A media briefing with Rukare is slated later today.
