Kolkata, 01 April (H.S.): Leader of the Opposition in West Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari, launched a sharp attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and issued a strong warning on Wednesday. Speaking in Nandigram and on social media platform X, he said that if alleged atrocities against BJP workers do not stop, the party will not remain silent.

“I just want to warn Trinamool—if such oppression on BJP workers does not stop, BJP will also respond. Today’s BJP in West Bengal is capable of resisting injustice,” he said.

Sharing a 2-minute-2-second video, Adhikari alleged that the Trinamool Congress has begun displaying its “narrow politics” in Nandigram. He claimed that BJP Minority Morcha worker Rakibul and other “nationalist Muslim brothers” are being socially boycotted, and even denied basic necessities like drinking water.

Calling the situation “medieval barbarity,” he said that despite such pressure, the affected individuals have not bowed down. After learning about the incident, he visited Dewan Chak village in the Bhekutia area of Nandigram and met Rakibul and others, assuring them of full support.

Adhikari further stated that supporting BJP is not a crime and that the Constitution of India guarantees every citizen the right to choose their beliefs and political path. Any interference in this right, he said, is equivalent to challenging the Constitution and is a punishable offence.

He also accused the Trinamool Congress of not respecting the law and the Constitution, adding that such incidents are therefore not new. He concluded by saying that the more TMC engages in such actions, the more it will distance itself from the people.
