
Mumbai, 01 Apr (HS): The Maharashtra Arts and Culture Foundation has organised ‘Marathi
Indi Music Awards (MiMA) 2026’ at the auditorium of Swantantyaveer Savarkar
National Memorial, Dadar, Mumbai at 6 pm on April 2.
The event is being organised to promote
and encourage music artists who have been producing quality compositions
without a formal banner. The artists have given a different dimension to Indian
music outside the frame of filmy music.
Magarashtra Minister for Cultural
Affairs, Ashish Shelar will be the chief guest. Prominent musicians and music
lovers will remain present.
In the digital era quality music in sub-regional
Koknaki, Khandeshi, Agri-Koli, Malwani languages, besides Marathi are becoming
popular. MiMA aims to provide a forum for these artists to promote their
compositions and their art. The forum will facilitate connecting these artists
to the main stream of Indian music.
One of the organisers of the event Ajay Naik said
that MiMA is a non-profit organisation and is promoting talent in music in
different regions of Maharashtra. The award winners this year have been
selected from more than 15,000 songs, including light music, Pop, Devotional
folk songs etc. Singers, lyricist, music composers, music organisers and sound
mixers will also be honoured.
