(HS): Bandu Dhotre, Vice-president of Eco-Pro social organisation has launched

hunger strike protesting proposal of Lohardingri Iron Mining, which under

Tadoba Corridor in Chandrapur district. Dhotre launched the hunger strike in

front of the Chandrapur District Collector’s office.

People from

various fields met Dhotre o the first day of his hunger strike and extended

support to him. Those who met him include Prof Suresh Chopne and Prof Yogesh

Dhudhpachare of Green Planet, retired forest officer Abhay badkelwar, Kishor

Jamdar, Rameshchandra Dahiwade and representatives of organisations working for

protection of environment.

People from

various fields opposed the proposed Lohardongri mining proposal, the place is

rich in iron ore and is an important place in Tadoba – Karhandla Tiger Pass.
