SBL Explosion: Committee

Nagpur, 04 Mar

(HS): A committee under the Divisional Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidri has

been constituted to suggest measures to control accidents like SBL explosion

killing 19 workers.

Nagpur District

Collector Dr Vipin Itankar, Nagpur Rural SP Harsh Poddar are the members of the

committee, which will coordinate with other government agencies like PESO

(Petroleum and Explosives Security Organisation), Directorate of Industrial

Security and Health and Labour Commissioner and other related departments. The

committee will also suggest the officers to be held responsible for such

accidents.

The government’s

‘Ease of Doing’ principle will be followed while making suggestions, Revenue

Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said.

Meanwhile,

offences have been registered against the owner of the company Sanjay

Chaudhari, Vice-president Chandrashekhar Brijmohan Rajwad (58, Senior General

Manager Sandeep Himmatlal Solanki (63), General Manager Pradip Ranghunath

Sharma (57), Production Manager Roshan Bhaskarrao Raut (43), and Neelkamal Thaniram

Dongre (48) and Prdocution Supervisor Pankaj Ramnaresh Pande and others.

Preliminary

investigation indicate neglecting the safety measures by the company.
