Kokrajhar (Assam), 30 March (HS): A flying squad team seized ₹57 lakh in cash in Assam’s Kokrajhar district during routine checking, officials said on Monday.

According to initial reports, the cash is suspected to belong to a businessman from the Shanti Nagar area of Kokrajhar. The seizure was made as part of intensified surveillance amid ongoing election-related monitoring in the region.

Authorities stated that the exact purpose behind carrying such a large amount of cash, as well as its intended destination, is yet to be ascertained. An investigation is currently underway to determine the source and intended use of the seized money.----------
