Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended warm wishes Sunday for the ongoing Madhavpur Mela in Gujarat's Porbandar calling it a vibrant showcase of India's rich heritage that fortifies deep cultural bonds between the western state and the Northeast.

In an X post PM Modi said the festival weaves diverse traditions embodying the true spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat and urged everyone to attend. He first highlighted the fair's significance and legacy in his April 2022 Mann Ki Baat episode.

The annual event commemorating Lord Krishna's marriage to Rukmini kicked off March 27 for five days drawing artisans folk performers and handicraft specialists from Northeast states adding splendor to the celebrations.
