Nashik, 28 Mar (HS): Many fresh

complaints have started pouring in against fraudster Ashok Kharat who projected

himself as incarnation of Lord Krishna and an astrologer. A businessman from

Newasa in Ahityanagar district has lodged a complaint that he was cheated of Rs

2.50 lakh and gold rings.

According

to the complainant, Rajendra Nanasaheb Bhagwat, he was introduced to Kharat by his

uncle Dnyandev Tagre to seek advice as he was suffering losses in his garments business.

Bhagwat with his wife Jayashree visited his office for consultation in December

2022. Kharat gave him two gem stones (Yellow Sapphire and Diamond) studded in golden

rings for increasing business multiple times. The Sapphire’s cost was quoted as

Rs 75,000. Bhagwat gave him three golden rings for studding gem stones and paid

Rs 1 lakh as an advance.

On

receiving a phone call from Kharat’s office after 4/5 days the remaining amount

of Rs 1.63 lakh was paid in cash as he was not ready to accept cheque.

As

Bhagwat did not see any progress in the business, he checked the gem stones to

find them fake. The cost of the stones was only Rs 5,000 and the rings contained

lot of copper.

Sarkarwada

have registered an offence against Kharat based on the complaint lodged by

Bhagwat. Further investigation has been initiated.

RAPE:

A woman has approached with a complaint against Kharat. According to the

complainant, she was given a sedative mixed water to drink and was raped by

Ashok Kharat. She had approached Kharat

to seek advice on some family issues.

According

to police, the complainant woman got married on May 25, 2013 and had a girl

child in 2014. After giving birth to a girl child disputes started between

husband and wife and they separated. In 2022 a relative took him to Ashok

Kharat for advice on the dispute. On his Kharat’s advice both husband and wife

started living together. In March 2022 Kharat called them at his Canada Corner

office and asked many questions about date of marriage, date of birth, cropping

pattern in their farm and projected himself as incarnation of Lord Mahadev. He

called them several times between 2022 and 2024.

In August

2024 Kharat made the complainant’s husband sit outside and gave her coconut

water and some juice as ‘Prasad’. When she was made to recite Gayatri Mantra

with a copper urn on her head Kharat touched her and raped her. Kharat also

threatened her of devastation through his superpowers, of she disclosed about

the rape.

Following

exposure of Kharat, the complainant revealed the case to her husband, who took

her to Sarkarwada police station and lodged a complaint against Kharat
