
Mumbai,
26 Mar (HS): Maharashtra Government’s Women and Child Development Department
has signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Children’s Investment Fund
Foundation (CIFF) for improving Nutrition Index of women and children in
Maharashtra. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the MoU has been signed
for a period of five years during which malnourshment will be reduced and Nutrition
Index of women and children is expected to rise considerably.
Secretary
of Women and Child Development Department, Dr Anupkumar Yadav, Executive
Director of CIFF Manjula Singh and other senior officers were present during
signing of the MoU.
In
the first phase the plan will be implemented in Palghar, Jalna, Nandurbar,
Gadchiroli and Amravati districts. Technical help will be provided in other
parts of the state.
Awareness
will be generated with help of experts. The benefits under Pradhan Mantri Matru
Vandan Yojana (PMMVY) will be made available directly to eligible women and
children. The mission to ensure healthy habits from conception to first 1,000
days of the new born child will be implemented.
