Mumbai, 26 Mar (HS):

The students of the Government Nursing College in Gondia district suffered from

suspected food poisoning on Thursday. A total of 45 students were suffering

from vomiting and stomach ache were admitted to medical college and hospital

for treatment. The samples of eatables in the nursing college canteen have been

sent for laboratory testing.

The Government Nursing

College is located in the premises of Gangabai Women’s Hospital of the Gondia

District General Hospital. A total of 185 students are pursing nursing training

and staying at the hostel. The students had their dinner on Wednesday at the

canteen. A total of 45 students suffered from vomiting and stomach ache on

Thursday morning.

Police are

investigating into the case of suspected food poisoning. The Dean of Medical

College Dr Kusumakar Ghorpade said that the condition of the students is not

out of danger.
