Nalbari (Assam), 26 March (HS): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday asserted that no illegal Bangladeshi infiltrator would be allowed to threaten indigenous people in the state, while campaigning for an NDA candidate in Sarthebari.
Addressing an election rally, the Chief Minister made a strong remark, stating that attempts to intimidate Assamese indigenous communities would be dealt with firmly. He said that earlier such elements had faced strict action and warned of even tougher consequences if such incidents recur.
Highlighting the alliance between the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Sarma used metaphors to describe the partnership. He compared the alliance to “bundia and bhujia,” suggesting that both complement each other.
He further likened AGP to a cup of tea and BJP to the sugar added to it, stating that the combination of the two brings the desired strength and flavour to governance.
The Chief Minister was campaigning in support of the NDA candidate ahead of the upcoming elections, reiterating the alliance’s commitment to safeguarding the interests of Assam’s indigenous population.--------
