During zero hour in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday members raised pressing concerns over education systems mental health nutrition labelling and digital sovereignty demanding firm policy steps from the government.

BJP member Dr Radha Mohan Das Agrawal highlighted how cutthroat competition and marks obsession erode study quality. Family school and societal pressures leave kids drowning in stress hooked on coaching. Citing studies he noted millions grapple with anxiety emotional imbalance and depression.

Agrawal flagged missing mental health support in schools calling for one psychologist per 100 students plus mandatory child psychology training for teachers.

Congress member Ranjeeta Ranjan spotlighted Indias rising health crisis with diabetes and obesity spiking fast. She slammed vague packaged food nutrition info pushing for front-of-pack colour-coded warning labels to hold companies accountable and boost public health.
