Union Minister for Communications and Northeast Development Jyotiraditya Scindia declared Wednesday that India lagged in 3G matched pace in 4G surged ahead in 5G and now stands poised to lead the world in 6G technology.

Responding to BJP MP Bidyut Baran Mahato's question in Lok Sabha Scindia highlighted rapid expansion of the PM-guided Bharat 6G Alliance with participating institutions jumping from 14 to 85. India aims for 10% of global 6G patents already filing 4000 while its ubiquitous connectivity proposal gained approval at 3GPP and ITU forums.

Seven active working groups under the alliance tackle spectrum equipment components green sustainability public outreach and use cases with quarterly ministry reviews ensuring timely progress. Scindia detailed Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) launched February 2024 under PM Narendra Modi with Rs 50000 crore corpus through 2028 including Rs 14000 crore budgeted featuring eight flagship programs like advanced research grants early career awards and excellence centers.

India will not just dominate 6G but set new benchmarks in research innovation Scindia affirmed crediting PM Modi's vision for this transformative leap.
