Domestic bourses surged Tuesday fueled by global positivity and hopes of easing West Asia tensions as Irans signals of willingness to talk ceasefire triggered broad buying after initial volatility with Sensex closing up 1.89 percent and Nifty 1.78 percent.

Markets opened strong but dipped around 10:30 am before buyers dominated post-noon especially after 12 pm on de-escalation news though profit booking capped gains. All sectoral indices ended green led by banking auto consumer durables over 2 percent higher alongside IT capital goods FMCG healthcare metal oil gas PSE realty defense tech midcap 2.60 percent smallcap 2.63 percent BSE market cap hit Rs 423.17 lakh crore provisional up Rs 7.95 lakh crore from Rs 415.22 lakh crore Monday.

Of 4431 BSE stocks 2968 advanced 1295 declined 168 unchanged NSE 2315 gainers 695 losers Sensex 28 up 2 down Nifty 44 up 6 down. Sensex opened 1516 points higher at 74212.47 slipped to 73084.46 mid-morning but recovered to 74489.39 intraday closing 1372 points up at 74068.45 Nifty opened 365.80 points at 22878.45 dipped to 22624.20 then hit 23057.30 before settling 399.75 points higher at 22912.40 top gainers L&T 5.22 percent InterGlobe Aviation 5.21 percent Eternal 4.84 percent Asian Paints 4.53 percent Bajaj Finance 4.48 percent losers Coal India 2.89 percent Power Grid 1.03 percent Adani Enterprises 0.82 percent Sun Pharma 0.29 percent Cipla 0.20 percent.
