Bhubaneswar, 24 March (H.S.): A fire broke out at a Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) office on Link Road in Cuttack on Tuesday, damaging several important documents and causing panic in the surrounding area.

According to initial reports, flames were noticed from inside the office premises, prompting local residents to immediately alert the fire brigade. Firefighters rushed to the spot and launched a prompt operation to control the blaze. After sustained efforts, the fire was successfully brought under control.

Officials confirmed that no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident. However, preliminary assessments indicate that several crucial records and documents stored within the office were gutted in the fire.

The exact cause of the incident is yet to be determined. Fire department officials suspect that a possible short circuit may have triggered the blaze, although a detailed investigation is currently underway to establish the precise cause.
