22 March (HS): On his Jyoti Jyoti Diwas, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath honoured Shri Guru Angad Dev Ji Maharaj, the second Guru of the Sikh
faith. He characterized Guru Angad Dev Ji's teachings, commitment to service,
and discipline as inspiring to society. Guru Angad Dev Ji used Gurmukhi script
to come up with compilation of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's hymns. CM Yogi has stated
that the sacrifices of the Sikh Gurus are vital to Indian culture and religious
preservation. He has emphasized the necessity of incorporating the history of
the Sikh Gurus into national awareness, highlighting their role in safeguarding
the country's spiritual legacy.
In a
post on X, he stated, “Tributes to the great saint, the second Guru of the Sikh
faith, Shri Guru Angad Dev Ji Maharaj, on his birth anniversary. Spreading the
teachings of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj, Shri Guru Angad Dev Ji Maharaj
made service and discipline the core values of his life. His teachings will
forever bind society together in unity and harmony.”
Uttar
Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath routinely celebrates Sikh history,
particularly Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, and the
Sahibzade (sons of Guru Gobind Singh), highlighting their
sacrifices for humanity and national unity. On Veer Bal Diwas, he conducted
festivities in Lucknow that focused on the Four Sahibzade. His tributes
highlight the courage and spiritual importance of the Sikh faith, and he
frequently hosts Kirtan Samagam at his official house.
