
Satara, 18 Mar (HS): The fourth
Maharashtra State Temple Trust conference is being organised at Swaraj Mangal
Kalyalaya, Satara on March 22. About 1,000 trustees, representatives and Pujaris
from various Hindu temples across the state are expected to participate. Those
fighting for protection of Hindu temples are also participating, Maharashtra
Temple Trust Organising Secretary Sanjay Joshi informed at a press conference
in Satara.
The issues to be discussed includes attacks
in various forms on temples in the name of ‘Secularism’, take over by
government, corruption in temples, grabbing temple land, claims on temple land
by Waqf boards, impurity in Prasad etc.
The organisation is of more than 17,000
trustees, priests, religious organisations and devotees. Prominent persons from
various fields including Horticulture Minister Bharat Gogawale, Girish Shah of
Jain Mandir, scholar in temple history and writer Sandip Sinh, Yogi
Niranjannath Maharaj from Alandi, National Convenor of Mandir Mahasangh Sunil
Ghanwat etc will attend the conference.
