New Delhi, 15 March (H.S.):

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has raised the FASTag annual pass fee from ₹3,000 to ₹3,075 for the upcoming fiscal year, effective April 1, in line with provisions under the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways confirmed the adjustment, attributing it to routine revisions tied to wholesale price index inflation. Launched on August 15, 2025—India's 79th Independence Day—the pass has gained rapid traction among private vehicle owners, boasting over 5.6 million users nationwide and earning strong feedback from highway commuters.

The updated fee applies across approximately 1,150 toll plazas on national highways and expressways, exclusively for non-commercial vehicles with valid FASTags. Once activated via a one-time payment through the Rajmargyatra app or NHAI website, the pass remains valid for one year or up to 200 toll crossings—whichever occurs first—eliminating the need for repeated recharges.

It activates on the linked FASTag within two hours post-verification.
