
Kolkata, 14 March (H.S.): Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the three-time IPL champions, has launched its new team jersey ahead of the 2026 Indian Premier League season, themed around “Lines of Legacy.” The design artfully weaves the franchise's storied past into its iconic purple and gold palette, symbolizing the team's enduring identity.
Key historical moments are depicted as interconnected lines forming an abstract rendition of the “KKR” lettering. Highlights include Brendan McCullum's explosive 158-run knock in 2008 and Rinku Singh's iconic five consecutive sixes in the final over of a match, allowing fans to wear these triumphs proudly.
At the launch, Knight Riders Sports CEO Venky Mysore described “Lines of Legacy” as a tribute to KKR's remarkable journey. “Each line represents a defining, proud moment that has shaped our identity,” he said, expressing optimism that the upcoming season will add fresh chapters to this heritage.
The reveal featured a creative social media campaign culminating in a video starring actor Rajat Bedi, comedian Anirban Dasgupta, and popular Kolkata content creators. Chief Marketing Officer Binda Dey noted that the “Kya Line Hai?” initiative engagingly narrates the team's legacy, inviting fans to become part of the story.
