Bhubaneswar, 14 March (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a crucial meeting at its state headquarters in Bhubaneswar on Saturday to deliberate on key organisational and political matters. The meeting began with discussions on SIR and is scheduled to later focus on preparations for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections.
Senior leaders, including Odisha BJP President Manmohan Samal and Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, attended the meeting. Both Deputy Chief Ministers, along with state ministers, Members of Parliament (MPs), Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), and all party candidates who contested the recent Assembly elections, were also present. State office bearers and district presidents of the party participated in the session as well.
The first phase of the meeting is centred on SIR, during which the party is expected to finalise a dedicated outreach programme. As part of this initiative, BJP leaders will visit villages and organise workshops across districts and Assembly constituencies.
The objective of the outreach programme is to explain to people at the grassroots level the necessity of the SIR process and the benefits it is expected to bring. Party leaders are also likely to formulate strategies to effectively communicate these points to the public.
The detailed programme and strategy related to SIR are expected to be finalised during the meeting at the state party office.
Following the discussions on SIR, the focus will shift to the Rajya Sabha elections. BJP leaders will hold a separate meeting with all party MLAs to discuss the voting process. During the session, MLAs will be briefed and trained on the voting procedure for the Rajya Sabha elections to ensure smooth and proper participation.
