Sacramento, California, 12 March (H.S.): The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has issued a confidential internal document warning California authorities of a potential drone attack by Iran, heightening security concerns amid the escalating U.S.-Israel military campaign against Tehran.

According to reports, the alert—shared last week by the FBI's Los Angeles office with local law enforcement—cites unverified intelligence from early February indicating Iran's aspiration to launch unmanned aerial vehicles from an unidentified vessel off the U.S. West Coast, targeting unspecified sites in California should America strike Iranian assets.

While the FBI emphasized a lack of details on timing, methods, targets, or perpetrators, officials urge vigilance without confirming any imminent threat.

California Governor Gavin Newsom addressed the matter on X, stating, While we are not aware of any imminent threats at this time, we remain prepared for any emergency in our state.

Homeland Security experts and law enforcement have downplayed panic, framing the bulletin as routine intelligence sharing rather than evidence of a credible plot, even as the Iran conflict fuels broader retaliatory fears.
