
Bhubaneswar, 12 March (H.S.): The Odisha government has assured citizens of adequate availability of cooking gas and fuel, following a high-level review of the supply chain chaired by Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra at Lokseva Bhavan.
The meeting, held at Annapurna Conference Hall, included senior officials from the Department of Food Supplies, Odisha State Civil Supplies Corporation, and representatives from major oil companies including IOCL, BPCL, HPCL, Reliance, and GAIL.
Shri Patra emphasized that there is no shortage of LPG, petrol, or diesel in the state and urged citizens not to panic. District Collectors have been directed to submit daily supply reports, while officials will monitor distributors and retail outlets to prevent any disruption to consumers.
The Minister also cautioned against black marketing and hoarding, instructing immediate legal action against any violations. Principal Secretary Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh highlighted that daily monitoring includes sensitive institutions such as SCB Medical College and educational centers to ensure uninterrupted supply to households.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining smooth fuel and gas availability, ensuring that public convenience is not affected despite ongoing global challenges.
