March (HS): An amazing scene of devotion and faith was witnessed on Wednesday
morning at the ancient Badi Sheetla Mata Temple located in Adalpura of Chunar
area of Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh. State government's Cabinet
Minister Swatantra Dev Singh reached the temple early in the morning and
received blessings by seeing and worshipping Mother Sheetla as per the rituals.
Upon reaching the temple premises, he first bowed his head at the feet of Mata
Rani and performed puja. The priests performed the puja as per the rituals
amidst chanting of Vedic mantras.
During
this, the minister prayed for happiness, prosperity, peace and welfare of the
state and the country. People welcomed minister and many devotees also visited
and worshipped with him in the temple premises. The minister also accepted the
greetings of the devotees and wished happiness and prosperity for everyone.
He said
that Mirzapur is a sacred land of faith and spirituality. This ancient shrine
of Mother Shitala is a major center of faith for devotees, where devotees from
far and wide come to visit the Mother Goddess. After visiting the temple, the
Minister met with the people present there and discussed issues related to the
development and public welfare of the area. Local public representatives,
administrative officials, and a large number of devotees were present. The
administration was also on alert regarding the Cabinet Minister's visit to the
temple.
Extensive
security arrangements were made, due to which the darshan and puja ceremony
concluded peacefully. After the Minister's darshan and puja, long queues of
devotees once again formed in the temple premises, and a religious atmosphere
prevailed throughout the area.
