New Delhi, 08 February (H.S.): Former Indian cricketer and Arjuna Awardee Shikhar Dhawan has been appointed as the brand ambassador for the Delhi Sports Mahakumbh. This visionary competition, an initiative of the Delhi government's Directorate of Education and Sports, aims to bolster grassroots participation in sports across the capital and identify emerging talent.

The inaugural edition of the Delhi Sports Mahakumbh will commence on February 13 at 16 locations in the capital, featuring thousands of young athletes competing in basketball, football, athletics, kabaddi, wrestling, squash, and volleyball.

Delhi's Minister for Education and Sports, Ashish Sood, stated that the Delhi Sports Mahakumbh is envisioned as a transformative platform for talent development and sports growth. Dhawan's association as brand ambassador lends immense credibility and inspiration to this initiative, perfectly aligning with our objectives of grassroots development, mass participation, and scouting future sports talent.

One of India's most recognized sports personalities, Shikhar Dhawan has long inspired young athletes nationwide. Even after his playing career, he continues to shape India's sporting aspirations through his venture, Da One Sports.

Upon his appointment, Shikhar Dhawan expressed profound gratitude.He thanked the Delhi government and the Directorate of Education and Sports for this honor.
