New Delhi, 03 February (H.S.): During the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parliamentary party meeting on Tuesday, legislators warmly felicitated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for securing a trade agreement with the United States within one week of the India-EU pact, extending hearty congratulations.

The gathering also welcomed the newly appointed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president, Nitin Nabin.

The session, convened amid the ongoing Parliament session, saw participation from Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and other senior ruling coalition leaders alongside MPs.

Enthusiastic MPs raised slogans praising the Prime Minister's role in yesterday's breakthrough deal.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju later shared details, noting the formal welcome for the new BJP chief and accolades for PM Modi's leadership in forging historic free trade agreements with the US, Europe, and other nations.

He highlighted the midnight culmination of the India-US pact, which has sparked nationwide euphoria and reduced US tariffs on Indian goods, fueling a stock market surge. Rijiju added that India has now inked FTAs with 39 developed countries to date.

The long-pending India-US agreement, finalized on Monday, lowers reciprocal tariffs on Indian exports, enhancing market access and boosting investor confidence amid the Budget Session.

This swift diplomatic success underscores India's rising global economic stature under Modi's stewardship.
