New Delhi, 03 February (H.S.): BJP MP and Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) National General Secretary Praveen Khandelwal on Tuesday described the India-US trade agreement as a landmark step elevating economic ties between the world's two largest democratic systems to unprecedented heights.

Khandelwal stated the pact will substantially enhance bilateral trade, stimulate investments in India, and generate large-scale employment opportunities, particularly for MSMEs, startups, and the manufacturing sector.

He emphasized that the agreement bolsters flagship programs like Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and Vocal for Local by providing broader market access for Indian products in the US and strengthening domestic value chains.

Key sectors poised for significant gains include manufacturing, electronics, defense production, pharmaceuticals, textiles and garments, gems and jewelry, agricultural products, renewable energy, and digital services. Indian exporters, traders, and entrepreneurs will directly benefit from reduced trade barriers, improved market access, and enhanced technology collaboration.

Khandelwal highlighted a crucial aspect: promoting collaboration in innovation, clean energy, supply chain resilience, and critical technologies, which will elevate India's global competitiveness and accelerate sustainable economic growth.

Overall, he characterized the India-US trade agreement not merely as a commercial arrangement but as a strategic economic partnership that will expedite India's journey toward a $5 trillion economy and establish the nation as a premier global hub for manufacturing and trade.
