New Delhi, 28 February (H.S.): Patiala House Court in Delhi granted bail on Saturday to Indian Youth Congress national president Uday Bhanu Chib in connection with the February 20 semi-nude protest at the AI Summit in Bharat Mandapam. The duty magistrate ordered his release on a ₹50,000 personal bond. The court directed Chib to surrender his passport and deposit his electronic gadgets. After police custody ended, Delhi Police presented him late Friday night at the magistrate's residence, seeking seven days' custody, but his bail plea prevailed.

Earlier, on February 24, Chib received four days' police custody. Police allege he masterminded the protest, providing logistics to participants. Four other Youth Congress workers—Krishna Hari, Kundan Yadav, Ajay Kumar, and Narasimha Yadav—arrested on-site, got five days' custody on February 21.

Protesters, initially planning black umbrellas and stickers, switched to printed T-shirts hidden under sweaters and jackets. Inside Hall No. 5, they stripped to reveal anti-government messages, leading to scuffles injuring three officers.

Youth Congress general secretary Nigam Bhandari received interim bail until March 24, while three Himachal workers—Saurabh, Arbaaz, and Siddharth—got three days' custody on February 26.
