28 Feb (HS): Ahead of World Hearing Day on March 3, students from Maharishi
Deora Baba Medical College in Deoria district organized an awareness program on
Saturday. The program's main objective was to educate people about regular ear
care, hearing protection, and the need for periodic hearing tests. The program
began with an awareness message, highlighting that hearing problems are rapidly
increasing due to today's hectic lifestyle and high noise pollution. Therefore,
timely precautions and regular testing are crucial.
Principal
of the college Dr. Rajni Patel was also present. She commended the students for
their initiative, saying that spreading health awareness in society is an
important responsibility of medical students. She added that such programs are
not only beneficial to the public but also aid in the personality development
of students.
The
program provided detailed information about proper ear hygiene, the adverse effects
of loud noise and music, the potential harm caused by prolonged earphone use,
and the need to seek immediate medical attention if you experience any hearing
problems. Students also spread awareness through posters, slogans, and short
presentations.
Finally,
the students conveyed the message that hearing loss can be largely prevented
through timely testing and precaution. The program generated significant
enthusiasm among the students, and attendees also praised it as a commendable
and inspiring initiative.
On
this occasion, Gagan, Anukriti, Preeti, Sushil, Shivam Chaurasia, Arul Vishen,
Shivanshi Mishra, Sarvesh Gupta, Anchal Shukla, Nishchaam Khatri, Anushka Rao,
Krishna Gupta, Amod Tripathi, Anush Shal Chak, and Vikas Gupta, along with
other students, actively participated. Together, the students played a crucial
role in making the program a success and engaged people in direct
communication, raising awareness.
