Guwahati, 28 February (HS): Akhil Gogoi, president of Raijor Dal, has announced that the party’s alliance with the Congress will end at 12 midnight on Saturday if no positive response is received regarding seat-sharing.

Gogoi stated that Raijor Dal remains firm on its demand for 12 Assembly seats as part of the alliance arrangement. He alleged that despite repeated discussions, the Congress has not provided any positive assurance so far.

The Raijor Dal chief made it clear that a final decision would be announced at midnight. He asserted that the party would not compromise on its stand and is prepared to take an independent course if its demands are not met.

The development comes amid ongoing negotiations between opposition parties ahead of the upcoming elections in Assam.----------
