Lucknow,
25 Feb (HS): Ahead of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's address at the UP
Investment Road Show in Tokyo, Japan, senior representatives from the country's
leading automobile companies described Uttar Pradesh as India's emerging
industrial growth engine. They said that under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's
leadership, the state has undergone extensive transformation over the past nine
years, making it the most promising destination for investment.
Mega
transformation has changed the identity of UP: Rahul Bharti - Rahul Bharti,
Senior Executive Officer (Corporate Affairs) at Maruti Suzuki, said that until
about nine years ago, Uttar Pradesh was not considered attractive for the
manufacturing ecosystem, but after the formation of the new government, the
state witnessed a mega transformation. He said that Chief Minister
Yogi set a goal of making Uttar Pradesh number one in every sector, and within
a few years, the results became clearly visible. Today, Uttar Pradesh is
leading in many sectors such as revenue, financial discipline, mobile
manufacturing, expressway network, agricultural production, plantation, ethanol
production, handicraft exports, and tourism.
He
specifically mentioned that due to the Electric and Strong Hybrid Vehicle
Policy, Uttar Pradesh has become the top state in the country in terms of
growth rate of EV and hybrid vehicles. Importantly, this achievement was
achieved without any reduction in government revenue; rather, revenue
increased. Describing Uttar Pradesh's policy system as a vibrant policy
ecosystem, Rahul Bharti said that strong law and order, swift
decision-making, and quick implementation create a reliable environment for
industries.
Auto
component companies like Subros and Spark Minda are active in Uttar Pradesh,
strengthening the state's automobile ecosystem. UP has become a symbol of
scale, speed and stability: Akash Minda - Speaking at the roadshow, Akash
Minda, Executive Director of Minda Cooperation Ltd., said that today's Uttar
Pradesh is a powerful example of scale, speed, and stability. Through modern
expressways, freight corridors, industrial hubs, and proactive policies, the state
is building a strong manufacturing base. Uttar Pradesh offers direct access to
India's largest workforce and rapidly growing consumer market, making it not
just a location for Japanese companies, but a launchpad for long-term
industrial success.
Akash
Minda explained that Spark Minda operates over 14 manufacturing units in Uttar
Pradesh, employing over 6,000 people, including over 500 persons with
disabilities. He added that the completion of the allotment of approximately
200,000 square meters of land in the YEIDA area in just 45 days demonstrates
the speed and transparency of ease of doing business in the state. He announced
that the company will invest in electronics backward integration, advanced
manufacturing and electric vehicle mobility, creating 3000–4000 direct and
indirect jobs over the next 2–3 years.
