Markapuram, 25 February (HS): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for the feeder canal lining works of the Veligonda Project in Markapuram district.

After the ceremony, the Chief Minister addressed a public meeting at Markapuram Praja Vedika. The visit marks his first trip to Markapuram following the formation of the new district.

Naidu was received at the helipad by ministers Gottipati Ravi Kumar, Dola Balaveeranjaneya Swamy and Nimmala Ramanaidu, among others.

Residents of Markapuram expressed appreciation to the coalition government and the Chief Minister for the creation of the new district.

The visit is seen as significant in the context of irrigation development and regional infrastructure initiatives in the area.
