Kathmandu, 23 February (HS): The death toll in the bus accident in Dhading district has risen to 19 after one injured passenger died during treatment in Kathmandu.

The bus, travelling from Pokhara to Kathmandu, met with an accident in the Benighat Rorang area of Dhading early Monday. Twenty-two injured passengers have been brought to Kathmandu for further medical care.

According to District Police Office spokesperson and DSP Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, 12 injured passengers are undergoing treatment at the National Trauma Center, while 10 are being treated at the National Hospital in Kalanki. Of the 23 patients brought to Kathmandu, one succumbed to injuries during treatment. The identity of the deceased has not yet been confirmed.

At the National Hospital in Kalanki, nine men and one woman are receiving treatment, while at the Trauma Center seven men and five women are admitted.

Earlier, 18 people were killed and 26 others injured in the accident that occurred early Monday in the Benighat Rorang area. Two foreign nationals were also among those injured.
