New Delhi, 22 February (H.S.): India and Brazil formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on postal sector cooperation on Saturday, a pivotal stride toward fortifying bilateral ties in postal services, digital advancement, and equitable service dissemination.
Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia and his Brazilian counterpart, Frederico de Siqueira Filho, affixed their signatures to the pact and exchanged documents during Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's State Visit to India. The Ministry of Communications hailed it as a cornerstone for elevating mutual collaboration across these domains.
Encompassing the exchange of best practices, digital metamorphosis, universal service obligations, capacity augmentation, collaborative ventures, global harmonization, and South-South synergy, the MoU holds for an initial five-year tenure with automatic renewal provisions, executed per both nations' statutes.
This strategic alliance promises to contemporize the postal infrastructures of India and Brazil while deepening economic and societal bonds between these Global South powerhouses.
