
Chennai, 21 February (H.S.) : Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin officially released the fourth volume of the Tamil Indo-European Root Words Dictionary during a high-profile event held in the city. This significant linguistic project is spearheaded by the Directorate of Tamil Etymological Dictionary and aims to bridge the historical and structural gaps between Tamil and various Indo-European languages.
During the launch, the Deputy Chief Minister emphasized the importance of preserving the classical nature of the Tamil language while highlighting its profound influence on global linguistics. He noted that such academic endeavors are essential to showcase the antiquity and richness of Tamil to the international community.
The newly released volume provides an extensive analysis of root words, tracing their evolution and commonalities with other major language families.
