New Delhi, 20 February (H.S.): Escalating tensions between the United States and Iran have driven crude oil prices to near six-month highs on Friday, with a 6-7% surge recorded over the past two days—the highest levels since January.In international markets, Brent crude hovered around $72 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude traded at approximately $67 per barrel.

The previous session saw both benchmarks rise about 1.9%, with gains holding firm today; Brent specifically advanced 21 cents to $71.87 per barrel, and WTI stood at $66.66 per barrel.Brent had closed the prior session up 1.9% at $71.66 per barrel, with WTI similarly climbing 1.9% to $66.43 per barrel, fueled by fears of supply disruptions amid the geopolitical standoff.
