Guwahati, 17 February (HS): Assam Pradesh BJP former President and MLA Bhavesh Kalita on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi, alleging that he has insulted the Assamese community and claiming that no self-respecting Assamese would stand with him.

Addressing the media, Kalita said, “Gaurav Gogoi has insulted the community. No self-respecting Assamese will stand with him.” He further asserted that not only Bhupen Bora, but many others are likely to leave the Congress party in the coming days.

Kalita’s remarks come amid growing political tensions in the state, with speculations of internal dissent and possible defections within the Assam Congress ahead of the upcoming elections.
