
Hyderabad, 17 February (HS): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said Hyderabad has emerged as a global hub for vaccine manufacturing, moving beyond its traditional identity associated with Charminar, biryani and software.
Inaugurating BioAsia 2026 at HITEX in Hyderabad, he invited global companies to invest in the state’s expanding life sciences sector and said Telangana attracted investments worth over ₹73,000 crore in the domain over the past two years.
The Chief Minister said a new Life Sciences Policy was recently announced in Davos and highlighted the expansion of Genome Valley along with the launch of research initiatives such as “One Bio”. He added that development of the proposed Green Pharma City project is being fast-tracked.
Referring to the “Telangana Rising 2047” vision, he said the state aims to grow its economy to USD 1 trillion by 2034 and further to USD 3 trillion by 2047.
He said BioAsia has evolved into a global platform attracting more than 4,000 delegates from 500 companies worldwide.
Calling upon industry leaders to set up global hubs in Telangana, the Chief Minister encouraged adoption of artificial intelligence in drug discovery and digital manufacturing and assured investors of government support.
“Telangana means business,” he said, adding the state is prepared to compete with global industrial clusters in life sciences and pharmaceutical sectors.
