New Delhi, 14 February (H.S.): Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan paid heartfelt tribute on Saturday to those who lost their lives in the serial bomb blasts that rocked Coimbatore city in Tamil Nadu on this very day in 1998, describing the attacks as a dark and painful chapter in the nation's history.
Recalling that tragic Saturday, Radhakrishnan wrote on X: “When L.K. Advani was on a visit to the city, Coimbatore witnessed serial bomb explosions that inflicted deep wounds on countless families. The atmosphere of fear, grief, and uncertainty prevalent at that time remains deeply etched in memory even today. Those horrific moments, when people were struggling to save the wounded and transporting the severely injured to hospitals, rank among the most agonizing periods of their lives.”
The Vice President urged all citizens to unite resolutely against terrorism and reaffirm their collective commitment to preserving peace, harmony, and national integrity.
