The Lok Sabha's first phase of the Budget Session concluded Friday with Presiding Officer Sandhya Ray adjourning proceedings until March 9 (11 AM), marking the second phase from March 9 to April 2 after morning disruptions.

Session commenced at 11 AM with Congress and opposition MPs clamoring for Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri's resignation, prompting noon adjournment; reconvening at noon, Ray rejected multiple notices under Rule 267 before Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan tabled ministry responses, followed by Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Women & Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi, Law Minister (I/C) Arjun Ram Meghwal, AYUSH Minister Prataprao Jadhav, Commerce MoS Jitin Prasad, Home MoS Nityanand Rai, and Health MoS Anupriya Patel.

Lok Sabha Secretary General Utpal Kumar Singh announced Rajya Sabha's February 12 passage sans amendments of the Industrial Relations Code (Amendment) Bill, 2026—previously cleared by Lok Sabha—before Ray adjourned till March 9; the session began January 28 with Union Budget presentation on February 1.
