New Delhi, 13 February (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday denounced Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi's behavior in the Lok Sabha during the ongoing Budget Session as utterly reprehensible and unbecoming of parliamentary dignity.
Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, addressing a press conference at party headquarters, asserted that Gandhi's leadership prompted Congress women MPs to engage in disruptive antics, underscoring their blatant disregard for parliamentary decorum and rules; he accused Gandhi of consistently undermining India abroad through anti-national rhetoric and repeatedly denting armed forces' morale with demoralizing statements.
Prasad highlighted Gandhi's alleged falsehoods regarding former Army Chief MM Naravane's book—despite publisher and author confirming non-publication—labeling in-House lying as a grievous assault on democracy; he further chided Gandhi's ignorance of India, newfound fear of RSS (world's largest voluntary organization, once criticized by Nehru, Indira, and Rajiv Gandhi alike), and Congress's post-three successive defeats frustration, while demanding clarity on party's stance mandating Vande Mataram in official events amid allies like Trinamool Congress opposing it as vote-bank politics.
