
Nagpur, 12 Feb
(HS): A fleet of 50 e-buses will be added to the city bus services, under the
MP e-Bus scheme.
Nagpur Municipal
Corporation has informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate 50 PM
E-Buses to Nagpur at 12.30 pm on February 14 through virtual mode from Nagpur’s
Koradi Bus Depot.
Maharashtra
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Manohar
Lal, Maharashtra’s Deputy CM Sunetra Pawar, Revenue Minister and Guardian
Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Ministers of State Ashish Jaiswal and
Madhuri Misal, Mayor Neeta Thakre, Deputy Mayor Leela Hathibed and others will
remain present.
The PM e-Buses
are being made available to improve the local transport. A total of 150 buses
have been approved for Nagpur, which will be made available in phases.
The PM e-Buses
are nine meter long with a capacity to carry 25 passengers. It will have a
hydraulic e-ramp to facilitate Safe and secured boarding and alighting by
Persons with Disabilities (Divyang). With the charging for 30 minutes the bus
can run up to 225 km. The buses will be operated on 11 routes in Nagpur.
