New Delhi, 12 February (H.S.):

The Adani Group marked its entry into the nuclear energy sector on Thursday through Adani Power Limited, which incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary named Adani Atomic Energy Limited (AAEL) dedicated to generating, transmitting, and distributing electricity from nuclear and atomic sources.

In a filing to stock exchanges, the company disclosed that AAEL was formally established in India on February 11, 2026, receiving its Certificate of Incorporation from the Central Registration Centre under the Registrar of Companies on the same day. AAEL boasts an authorized capital of ₹5 lakh, divided into 50,000 equity shares of ₹10 each, with Adani Power retaining 100% ownership, classifying it as both a wholly-owned subsidiary and related party.

This strategic formation positions Adani Power to capitalize on India's recent liberalization of the nuclear sector via the SHANTI Act, enabling private participation in power generation while the government oversees strategic aspects.

The move aligns with national goals to expand nuclear capacity to 100 GW by 2047, diversifying beyond thermal and renewables amid rising clean energy demands.
