
Dallas, 11 February (H.S.): Former US Open champion Croatia's Marin Cilic achieved a remarkable milestone by securing his 600th career ATP Tour victory, becoming the second active player to reach this mark after Novak Djokovic (1,168 wins).
The 37-year-old Cilic defeated American Learner Tien 7-5, 7-6(4) in the Dallas Open on Tuesday, eclipsing compatriot Goran Ivanisevic's record of 599 wins.Battling persistent injuries, Cilic attributed the feat to his unwavering dedication, stating, The last few years have been extremely tough with numerous challenges. Returning to this level and performing well against a talented player like Learner feels incredibly rewarding. Reaching 600 wins reflects my commitment to tennis.
Cilic clinched his sole Grand Slam at Flushing Meadows in 2014.
