
Champawat, February 10 (HS): The administration in Champawat district has launched a new initiative to turn the anti-drug campaign into a mass movement by using culture and faith as a medium. As part of this effort, cultural promotion kits were distributed at Nagnath Temple and Hingla Devi Temple to spread awareness against drug abuse.
District Magistrate Manish Kumar offered prayers at both temples and wished for the prosperity and well-being of the district. He also reviewed the arrangements at the temples. During the visit, the District Magistrate interacted with local public representatives and temple committees and appealed for their cooperation in taking the anti-drug campaign to every village.
The District Magistrate said that drug abuse affects not only an individual but also the entire family and society. He emphasised that messages delivered from religious and cultural centres help promote positive thinking and a responsible lifestyle among the youth.
Saints and temple representatives present at the programme appreciated the administration’s initiative. They described it as extremely beneficial for society and assured active cooperation in the anti-drug campaign.
On the occasion, several public representatives and local citizens were present, including Nagnath Temple Mahant Shankar Nath Rawal, Shri 1008 Ashok Giri Maharaj, Minister of State rank Shyam Narayan Pandey, and MLA representative Prakash Tiwari.
