Riyadh, 08 October (H.S.): Iran-backed Houthi rebels have targeted two airports in Saudi Arabia, with attacks on Abha International Airport and Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport leaving three people dead and 36 others injured.

Two women were killed and 28 people injured in the attack on Abha International Airport. Meanwhile, one person was killed and eight others wounded in the attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

According to a report by Gulf News, the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) said that Houthi attacks on two Saudi airports on Tuesday and Wednesday left three people dead and 36 others injured. According to a GACA statement, two women—one Moroccan and the other Algerian—were killed in the attack on Abha Airport, while 28 Saudi citizens and foreign residents were injured. The attacks took place at Abha Airport and King Khalid International Airport on October 6 and 7.

Those injured in the Abha Airport attack included Saudi citizens as well as two residents from Bangladesh and the Philippines. Among the eight people injured at King Khalid International Airport were five Saudi citizens, two Egyptian residents and one Pakistani resident. All those injured were taken to hospitals for medical treatment.

The two attacks also caused property damage, although GACA did not provide details about the extent of the damage. In addition, Houthi attacks on several cities in Saudi Arabia left 13 people injured.
