Washington, 14 October (H.S.):
U.S. President Donald Trump has said that the United States will make a decision on Iran very soon. Speaking to reporters outside the White House, Trump criticised Iran’s economy, describing the country as a “failed state.”
Trump claimed that Iran’s economy was in an extremely poor condition, with inflation having reached as high as 300 per cent. He said Iran was running out of money and was unable to pay its soldiers and other people.
Trump’s remarks come at a time when media reports are discussing the possibility of renewed military action against Iran ahead of the October 27 elections in Israel and the November 3 midterm elections in the United States.
Trump has previously indicated that he would soon make a major decision regarding Iran. However, despite such statements, no fresh major attacks have taken place so far.
Last week, Trump said that the United States would not attack Iran before the midterm elections.
