08 Jan (HS): Dr. Rameez Malik, accused of attempting to convert a female doctor
at KGMU, has been found to have connections with the banned organization
Islamic Research Foundation (IRF). Meanwhile, the KGMU Vishakha Committee, in
its investigation, found Dr. Rameez guilty of sexual harassment. The case of
sexual exploitation and attempted conversion of a female resident at KGMU is
gaining momentum. The accused, Dr. Rameez, has been linked to the banned
Islamic Research Foundation (IRF). Its director, Dr. Zakir Naik, is hiding
abroad. This organization facilitated religious conversions, which led to its
ban.
Dr.
Naik incites youth to convert through social media. He orchestrated a large
number of conversions in Maharashtra, paying substantial sums of money for the
conversions. It is believed that people close to Dr. Naik are sheltering the
accused doctor. Dr. Naik is also known for his controversial statements.
Sources say that the Islamic Research Foundation converted approximately 800
people.
The
Mumbai Police also arrested some individuals. Intelligence agencies have been
alerted after Dr. Naik's name surfaced. Dr. Rameez's connections are being
investigated. Dr. Naik is wanted in India and faces charges of foreign funding
and illegal activities.
The
sole purpose: promoting radicalism: Investigations have revealed that Dr.
Rameez wanted to promote radicalism. He was influenced by both Changur and Dr.
Naik. After recovering the accused's mobile phone and laptop, police will
investigate his social media connections. The organization's goal was to
promote extremist and radical ideology among youth.
A
notice of attachment was pasted on Dr. Rameez's house: Lucknow police on
Thursday reached Pilibhit's Nuria town and Khatima's Ward 14 and posted
attachment notices outside the ancestral homes of accused doctor Rameez Malik.
The police team returned after an hour of action.
We
will find Rameez even from the underworld: Aparna - Aparna Yadav, Vice
President of the Uttar Pradesh State Women's Commission, stated that Dr. Rameez
of KGMU would be found even from the underworld. Aparna, who was attending the
National Classroom in Nandininagar, said that the victim is receiving justice
due to the Commission's initiative.
Dr.
Rameez found guilty in the investigation, his admission may be cancelled: The
Vishaka Committee report proved the allegation of sexual harassment. The
Vishakha Committee of King George's Medical University has completed its
investigation into Dr. Rameez's case. The investigation found Dr. Rameez guilty
of sexual harassment. The KGMU administration is preparing to write to the
Director General of Medical Education (DGME) to cancel his admission.
A
female resident doctor in the pathology department of KGMU had accused fellow
resident Dr. Rameez of sexual harassment and attempted religious conversion.
The Vishakha Committee, formed in this case, found the male resident guilty in
its preliminary investigation. Based on this, the resident was suspended and an
FIR was filed against him. Dr. Rameez has since fled. The Vishakha Committee
took statements from all the doctors and staff in the department before
submitting its final report. Rameez was also summoned to testify, but he did
not appear. The committee has completed its investigation and submitted its
report to the KGMU Vice Chancellor. Action against the accused in this case is
now being decided.
Waiting
for the investigation report of the accused's helpers: The Vishakha Committee
has completed its investigation, but the investigation into those who helped
the accused resident is still pending. Some KGMU professors are accused of
aiding the resident. The committee is investigating their roles.
