Prayagraj,
08 Jan (HS): Prateek Kumar, Technical Officer, Rural Agricultural Weather
Service, SHUATS Prayagraj, stated that according to the India Meteorological
Department, dense morning fog is likely in Prayagraj district on January 9th
and 10th, which may reduce visibility. The weather will remain dry during this
period, with no rain expected. On January 9th, the maximum temperature is
expected to be around 16 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature 6 degrees
Celsius. On January 10th, the maximum temperature is expected to be around 17
degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature around 7 degrees Celsius.
Persistent
fog and high humidity may increase the risk of fungal diseases in wheat,
mustard, pulses, and vegetable crops. Farmers are advised to avoid spraying
during fog, conduct agricultural work only during the afternoon in clear
weather, and use mulching or temporary coverings to protect vegetable and
nursery crops from the cold.
