Kochi, 07 January(HS): In a major revelation, A K Balan, former Kerala Minister and a senior CPI(M) leader has said that if the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) wins the upcoming Legislative Election, the Home Department would be ruled by Jamaat-e- Islami, a Muslim extremist organization.

“Past experiences are enough proof of this phenomenon. The Jamaat-e-Islami stands for the creation of an Islamic theocratic State and ot is known to all secular parties,” said Balan while speaking to a pro-CPI(M) and pro-Islamic extremist channel.

Balan’s statement drew condemnation from Congress, Muslim League and Jamaat-e-Islami. Mujib Rehman, air, J-e-I, rubbished the statement by the CPI(M) leader. “We are an apolitical organization and working for the upliftment of the Muslim community. We do not have any interest in politics,” said Rehman while speaking to the media on Wednesday.

K C Venugopal, AICC general secretary and political guru of Gandhi sibling Rahul and Priyanka slammed Balan for making false statements. “Let him furnish at least a single evidence to prove his charge that the UDF has any kind of alliance with Jamaat-e-Islami,” challenged Venugopal.

V D Satheeshan, Leader of Opposition, said that Balan’s statement about J-e-I was ridiculous. “This has been made to divert the attention of the people from the controversy regarding gold heist from Sabarimala shrine. Many top leaders of the CPI(M) are involved the gold theft. This is to hoodwink the general people that they have brought in Sabarimala shrine issue,” said Satheeshan.

Meanwhile the Kollam Judicial First Class Magistrate junked the bail plea of A Padmakumar, former president of Travancore Devaswom Board in connection with gold heist. Padmakumar’s bail petition seeking blame was dismissed twice by the courts and he has been in jail since 20th November 2025.

The Congress finds itself in a corner as the picture featuring Unnikrishnan Potti, the prime accused in the Sabarimala Gold Scam. Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and two MPs representing the party have gone viral.

Venugopal and Satheeshan alleged that the photograph was proof of the secret understanding between the BJP and the CPI(M). Both the Congress and the CPI(M) have secret understanding with extremist Islamic organizations like Popular Front of India, SDPI, Welfare Party of India and Peoples Democratic Front.
