New Delhi, 06 January (H.S.): Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution, Pralhad Joshi, stated on Tuesday that the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) mark has emerged as a symbol of trust in multiple sectors. He emphasized that BIS is not just an organization but a strong legacy that has shaped the nation’s journey.

Speaking at the 79th Foundation Day celebrations of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Joshi stressed that quality is both a responsibility and a competitive advantage. He noted that standards play a crucial role in excellence, consumer protection, ease of doing business, Make in India, and Atmanirbhar Bharat by serving as benchmarks.

Joshi said that BIS is celebrating the legacy of quality, trust, and excellence. The minister reiterated the collective commitment to transform zero defect, zero effect and Made in India into Trusted by India and Trusted by the World.
